It's a bird, It's a plane. It's a Taylor!

I captured the newest excitement Taylor experiences. He love to play airplane. He's so big. The only downfall is the slobber that occasionally trails down onto Dan - not his favorite part. But it's hilarious.  You'll note the string of drool hanging down!

But sometimes SO serious...
Dan has had some light days for summer! It's been really nice to hang out at home, run errands together and have our summertime!
Staying home is so fun too. I love being able to focus on being wife and mom.

I have revamped my recipe box and am trying lots of new things. It's been my goal since I am at home. I want to cook more, try new recipes, find healthier alternatives, and so far it's been great. Dan is stepping it up and trying more veggies. We figure he should ease his way into it as when Taylor is older, he'll need to be a good example! :)
So tonite I made Honey Mustard Chicken with fresh greenbeans. This chicken recipe is super easy and we love it. It's so fun to cook - I never liked it before, but I didn't try anything new, didn't feel like branching out and taking more than 5 minutes to make a meal. This is such a perk to staying at home. It's fun to be able to serve my husband in this way. I can always tell when he enjoys a good homecooked meal!

my little buddha man!

So today was the day of the 4-month check up with Dr. Graham, who we just love!
Taylor is a boy of a larger stature (not sure where he gets this from!) As of today, his stats are:
  • 18 lbs. (95th%)
  • 26 in.  (75th%)
  • pretty big head (90th%)
  • 6 shots
  • about 10 seconds of crying! (such a trooper)
I appreciate that the doctor expressed sympathy to me having to carry this little beast around! I really don't need to work out much; lifting 18 pounds consistently, getting it in and out of the car is an arm and ab workout enough...
I'm just happy he's healthy and eating and growing, we have nothing to worry about and most of all, he's so happy and just a load of fun!

Dan and I are going to go to see Shane & Shane tonite with some friends. EXCITED!!
Love everything about them, because they're such amazing musicians and can really sing. But they are also so worshipful and sing Scripture more than anyone I've heard. They are just amazing - this is one of my faves below. Click to check it out! Enjoy!

the infamous opening blogpost

Well....here I am!
Isn't this the time where I express my doubts about the necessity of blogging? 'Tis true. I never thought I would, still not sure if I should, and debating whether I should tell anyone of the blog at all...

But before I get hasty, these are the reasons that I would do such a thing.
1) For myself - not sure all that I'll write about, but it could be good for me. I do enjoy writing, even though I'm no Nicholas Sparks (or should I say, J.K. Rowling, who I would say is much more realistic of a writer than the Sparkster)

2) For others - I have a hard time believing that people really want to read what I have to say. But needless to say, I have a child now (he is the CUTEST thing in the entire world) and I DO believe that family and friends that are out of town may like to see him. So this could mainstream some of the pics and video I take of him. I definitely would like to keep Taylor Footage up here!

3) While I'm at it, I'll probably go into things that are going on in my life, what I'm trying to keep up with and some random thoughts in between. God has blessed my life and I'm not afraid to share that!

So here goes. We'll see if it lasts. And if I've written like 10 posts before you've seen this, you will note my hesitancy.  :)
